"somewhere, someplace"
Yiorgios Michael
The images in the series feature interior spaces as well as exterior spaces that I encounter while travelling. The contrast between the confinement of the interior space and the affectless vastness of the cityscape on some level reflects the struggle to conform to societal expectations. In the interior spaces that we spent our lives we try to mold ourselves to these expectation. Yet, fitting into these molds is inherently awkward and often futile, as individuality resists standardization. Like the shifting cityscape—with structures constantly demolished and rebuilt—these societal expectations are in perpetual flux, impossible to truly satisfy.
